The digest is the system. Building is the work.

In June I turned on an autonomous blog. A pipeline I built reads about 36 AI sources every morning, clusters them into stories, checks each one against everything already published, writes the day's posts, reviews its own drafts against an editorial rubric, and publishes the ones that pass. No human approval loop. I watch a Telegram digest and step in when something needs fixing.

It worked. As I write this it has published more than 600 posts, survived model outages, feed rate limits, a GitHub Actions outage, and several of its own bugs. It caught a rumor-heavy story a human might have shipped, and it queues its failures as drafts instead of publishing them. The system did what I built it to do.

That is exactly why it should not be the public face of this site.

An experiment ran and proved its point: an operator, not a lab, can build a publishing system with real editorial controls and let it run unattended. The point was never that the internet needs ten more AI posts a day with my name near them. Volume is a property of the machine. It is not a personal brand, and pretending otherwise gets the accountability backwards. When everything on a site looks hand-written and most of it is not, the honest pages lose credibility along with the automated ones.

So the site now says what is what. The feed lives on as the Digest: labeled machine-published, on every page, with my name on it as publisher, because it is mine and I answer for it. How it works is documented in the open as a build, not hidden as a byline. That page says more about how I work than any thirty generated posts.

What I stand behind personally is smaller and slower. Building is the record: systems shipped under my real name, with dates, stacks, and honest notes about failures. This Writing section is for the occasional piece I write by hand, like this one. Rare on purpose. If I publish something here, I mean it sentence by sentence.

The distinction is simple to state and I intend to keep it visible: the digest is the system. Building is the work. One is an exhibit, running in a labeled case. The other is the reason to hire me, work with me, or argue with me.
